What the Packs Actually Cost: 89 Packs, Priced
The Packs list shows what each pack contains and what each tier costs. That is the right shape for checking a pack before you buy it, and the wrong shape for answering the question you actually have: is this a good deal?
A price only means something next to what it buys. So this is the same table, divided.
Every figure below is computed from the pack table on this site. Nothing here is an opinion about whether you should spend money — only about what the numbers say when you do.
What is in the table
| Distinct packs | 89 |
| Purchasable tiers | 483 |
| Tiers per pack | 2 to 8 |
| Price range | $1.99 to $99.99 |
| Distinct price points | 21 |
| Buying every tier once | $12,405.99 |
They are not all available at once. The table splits them by how often they appear:
| Rotation | Packs |
|---|---|
| Biweekly | 35 |
| Daily | 30 |
| Weekly | 12 |
| Monthly | 12 |
The finding: the small tier is almost always the best rate
Most packs sell the same item at several tiers — more of it, for more money. The natural assumption is that the big tier is the bulk discount.
It is the opposite.
Comparing every tier that sells a single item, across 89 comparable groups:
| Tier with the best price per unit | Groups |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 (the cheapest) | 83 |
| Tier 2 | 6 |
| Any higher tier | 0 |
The cheapest tier has the best rate in 93% of cases, and no tier above 2 ever wins.
How much worse does it get? Comparing each pack's top tier against its tier 1:
- On average, the top tier costs 1.89x more per unit
- Median: 1.82x
You are not paying a premium for convenience. You are paying roughly double.
The six exceptions
Six groups are won by tier 2 rather than tier 1. All six, and none by a higher tier:
- Beast Skill XP Scroll
- Azurite Pack
- Artifact-Exclusive Custom
- Raw energy
- Recruitment Speed Up 1h
- Articact exclusive custom
The same item, very different prices
Comparing across packs rather than within one, the spread gets much wider. These are items sold on their own in at least four tiers, sorted by how much the unit price varies:
| Item | Tiers offering it | Cheapest | Most expensive | Spread |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Obsidian | 21 | $0.05 | $0.48 | 9.5x |
| Gold Artifact Fragment | 59 | $0.99 | $8.33 | 8.4x |
| Recruitment Speed Up 1h | 30 | $0.07 | $0.42 | 6.3x |
| Artifact Experience 1k | 21 | $0.14 | $0.83 | 6.1x |
| Material Chest Blue | 10 | $0.28 | $1.67 | 6.0x |
| Laevateinn Fragment | 18 | $1.99 | $11.11 | 5.6x |
| Beast Skill XP Scroll | 17 | $0.09 | $0.45 | 5.1x |
| Azurite | 27 | $0.01 | $0.06 | 4.3x |
| Beast Element | 31 | $0.04 | $0.17 | 4.3x |
Obsidian is the clearest case. The cheapest obsidian in the table is tier 1 of High End Development, at about five cents a unit. The most expensive is roughly ten times that, for the same obsidian.
Gold Artifact Fragments matter most in absolute terms: they appear in 59 tiers, which is more than any other item, and the gap between the best and the worst is over seven dollars per fragment.
What this is good for
Three things fall out of the numbers, and none of them require knowing anything about the game:
- If an item appears in more than one pack, check both. The spread is rarely small.
- Buying the small tier repeatedly beats buying the big one in 93 of every 100 cases, whenever repeat purchases are allowed.
- The top tier is the worst rate in almost every pack. It buys the most, not the most per dollar.
One number that is not here
One item in the table was left out on purpose. Starlight Experience is sold in quantities from 20 to 12,000 depending on the pack — a 3,500x range. Those cannot be the same unit, so the price comparison would have been meaningless. Rather than publish a made-up 1,000x bargain, it is excluded, and the underlying table entry is worth a second look.
Everything else above comes straight from the Packs list, and you can check any line of it against the table.
