Obsidian and Enhancement Priorities — Every Enhancement, by Slot

By oNarePublished: Updated: 5 min read

The Blacksmith building gives you the possibility to Enhance your equipment with different attributes that may be useful for different setups and events. This covers how to do it and which ones to prioritise.

For Blue Equipment Lv25+.

Enhancements location: Castle view → Blacksmith → Enhance.

Activate and Recast

  1. Click Enhance on any item you want to work on.
  2. Recast tab: you can roll a different attribute depending on which equipment you selected. It takes 25 obsidian to recast.

Fortify Enhancements

  1. The Fortify tab is on the right, next to Recast.
  2. Each level you Fortify gives you an upgrade for the attribute you choose to upgrade.
  3. There are level restrictions per equipment quality:
QualityMax Fortify level
Blue10
Purple20
Orange30
  1. Check the obsidian needed for each level and upgrade in the Enhancement Levels table — filter by Obsidian.

General info

  • You can inherit an enhancement if you upgrade or forge the same equipment type. Example: Weapon Lv25 to Weapon Lv30. If you choose another equipment type you get back all the obsidian you spent on upgrades.
  • You can play with the Enhancements Simulator in the Equipment tool, under the Enhancement tab.

Note: there are more enhancements focused on increasing your angel limit, army size limit, stamina regeneration, recruitment speed, etc.

All enhancements, by slot

The pattern worth noticing: the offensive slots (Weapon, Belt, Accessory) carry attack and damage-boost lines, the defensive slots (Helmet, Clothes, Boots) carry HP, defense and damage-reduction lines, and the utility lines — Building Speed, Research Speed, Gather Speed, March Speed, Load Boost — are scattered across both. If you are hunting one specific utility line, this is the list that tells you which slot to recast.

Where the Elite War lines pay off

Note that Increases Damage during Elite War only exists on Belt and Accessory, and Damage Taken Reduction in Elite Wars only on Boots. That is why the Elite War build above is exactly those three slots — there is no fourth slot that carries an Elite War line, so the build is not a preference, it is the whole set.

The same is true for Realm Invasion. Army Size Limit, by contrast, sits on both Belt and Accessory, which is what makes the Elite War stat swap and the Anubis Tower swap worth the obsidian.
